Mobile networks
You can choose from four mobile networks in Slovakia:
Orange
O2
Telekom
4-ka
Free starter pack
Orange provides people from Ukraine with a Prima Voľba starter package with a new SIM card and prepaid services for free.
Prima Voľba includes 10 GB of data, 60 prepaid minutes of calls to Ukraine and bonus credit worth €2, which you can use for calls and SMS. You can get it at any of the Orange stores by showing a Ukrainian personal document (passport, ID card, driver’s license, residence permit, confirmation of temporary protection). You can register only one such card in your name.
Other mobile operators offer their services for regular fees.
Your rights
According to the regulations of the European Union, you have the following rights.
- You do not pay any additional fees for making and receiving calls and sending SMS in EU countries. You pay the same per minute of call as in Slovakia.
- Prepaid minutes, SMS and GB of data will be deducted from your credit in the same way in EU countries as in Slovakia.
- Unlimited data is not really unlimited. However, the data limit is usually large enough to comfortably use the Internet.
